Awesome!
August 18th, 2010 at 9:17 am
Awesome update
but there is one problem that I can see right off the bat. I stops running sometimes when a person signs in or out, or if you get a email update. Then you have to restart it
August 18th, 2010 at 9:31 am
15 days for a number of bug fixes – cool.
August 18th, 2010 at 9:32 am
Es un programa increíble, MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!
August 18th, 2010 at 9:34 am
Thanks!!!
I see clicking refresh on Facebook now seems to work properly now, also Trillian was crashing when FourSquare would disconnect for some reason but is also fixed now.
August 18th, 2010 at 9:35 am
Looks like the same old shit to me. But feel free to congratulate yourselves along with these other rocket scientists!
August 18th, 2010 at 9:36 am
I’d love to see that a fast progress with the Mac version…
August 18th, 2010 at 9:36 am
is there anyway to get a plugin for google voice??
August 18th, 2010 at 9:37 am
Restarting Trillian doesn’t notify me of a new version being available.
If I click Help – Update Available – Download it says “Error while downloading update”.
August 18th, 2010 at 9:50 am
Nice work
August 18th, 2010 at 9:50 am

August 18th, 2010 at 9:53 am
I love my service dots back…..i was turning them on each login. The simple pleasures you see.
I still would like to be able to rearrange my groups.
August 18th, 2010 at 9:54 am
I looking for multichat client and trillian provides much more from my expectations, great software
August 18th, 2010 at 10:11 am

August 18th, 2010 at 10:37 am
August 18th, 2010 at 10:40 am
É tudo de bom esse programa!
August 18th, 2010 at 10:51 am
I’ve been using Trillian for years. and use it for communication between Nevada Website Design and customers, co-workers and friends……great to see the update!
August 18th, 2010 at 10:55 am
Thanks for making facebook no longer screw up my contact list. But what do I do with the dupe facebook contacts I got?
August 18th, 2010 at 11:00 am
thanksssssss so much
August 18th, 2010 at 11:08 am
wonderfull
August 18th, 2010 at 11:17 am
Não existe possibilidade e mudar os padrões de cores do Trillian… depois de muitos bugs concertados, pelo menos issu eles deveriam liberar, cores, não temas.
August 18th, 2010 at 11:28 am
Trillian 5 is awesome!!!!the best IM ever!!!
August 18th, 2010 at 11:29 am
Thank you
August 18th, 2010 at 11:35 am
Works well, got all my networks and contacts up and running. Thanks.
August 18th, 2010 at 11:38 am
What exactly is this “bug fix” for trillian 4.2 ?
August 18th, 2010 at 11:39 am
I notice this in the changelog:
“11488 Kevin Kurtz FIXED [Message Windows] windows state/position problems”
however I am still experiencing issues with it remembering the correct position of windows. particularly the “message” area (where you type), if you stretch it to be taller, this size is not always remembered. particularly annoying if you like to customize your window sizes and positions like I do.
August 18th, 2010 at 11:42 am
If you want to connect to Google Apps (Google Talk), Trillian always says I have to enter the wrong password.
August 18th, 2010 at 12:30 pm
Thanks! Especially appreciate the bug fixes for contact list related issues.
August 18th, 2010 at 12:35 pm
I can’t see login screen. It is diffucult for me. win7 x64.
August 18th, 2010 at 12:40 pm
Facebook contact history was lost when I installed the beta T5. this update does not remedy this problem. I fear that when server-client synchronization of activity history occurs it will not find my previous activity logs to add to the sync.
August 18th, 2010 at 1:09 pm
I am really digging this new version! Keep it up, soon as I get some more dough I might even wait till 5.0 comes out and then buy the pro version, ever since the older trillian I’ve never been wthiout it, saves the hassle of downloading individual IM clients and saves space, time + memory all thanks to trillian.
August 18th, 2010 at 2:02 pm
Where is the changelog for v4.2 build 21?
August 18th, 2010 at 2:05 pm
Awesome Update Thank you
August 18th, 2010 at 2:11 pm
Great number of fixes. Looks promising. Congrats to Kevin and Scott on all the hard work. I’m sure it will pay off in the end, but until dark themes are released, I’m still die hard T4.2
August 18th, 2010 at 2:31 pm
Still not showing RT’s in the @replies in the Twitter integration. No way for me to see when someone RT’s one of my tweets. This is the only thing keeping me opening another Twitter client.
August 18th, 2010 at 2:39 pm
Nice work guys, but I’m still waiting for the dark skins/themes!
August 18th, 2010 at 3:26 pm
FINALLY!! ^^ This day will remain a peak of Trillian-ic evolution – the day that Trillian actually showes contact *names* in the create group conversation dialogue. Long due, so glad to have it
But the contact list doesn’t show the services a metacontact consists of correctly (anymore).
August 18th, 2010 at 3:43 pm
Wait… I thought the last post (The one where you announced Trillian 5) stated that the next post was gonna be about Trillian for Android?
I hate to be a troll… I do know and understand that the Trillian 5 team and the Trillian for Android team are seperate and individual, but still… I would think that one could shift a member or two over to get stuff done when it needs to be. Furthermore, isn’t it helpfull to get all the mobile versions out there and running so that the roll out of sessions and histories can run more smoothly? I do understand the need to focus on bugs in these early builds… And so I just hope that this is the last bug fix before the launch of Trillian for Android. As I see it, we need all the clients out there and updated simultaneously to support the session and history syncing, and that requires the Trillian for Android client tested for bugs as well.
I do love your products, have bought Trillian Pro for 3.x, 4.x, and iPhone. Keep up the good work!
August 18th, 2010 at 3:50 pm
I want webcam on MSN =/
August 18th, 2010 at 3:57 pm
Can anyone else establish a successful voice or video call? I cannot get either to work. When I place a video call, both parties see the notification in the chat window that says “XXX is calling you” but there is nothing to click accept with. I get prompted and can accept a VOICE call but I see no confirmation that the call has started nor can I hear the other party. I get absolutely NOTHING with the video call minus a ringing tone and a notification inside the chat window, no way to accept no way to “chat first”. ideas?
August 18th, 2010 at 4:43 pm
now just need transparency and voice/video chat for MSN/WLM… then i will never need another messenger/software for doing those!
August 18th, 2010 at 5:00 pm
dragonking25
Transparency is already there. Hold down ‘Shift’ while right-clicking the window.
August 18th, 2010 at 5:20 pm
Just upgraded from v4.2 but a little dissapointed
My pro account has been downgraded and I only bought it a few months ago! I expect to pay to upgrade, but not whilst in beta! As a pro user I would hope to be able to evaluate the new pro features (at least some grace period, or whilst its in beta). As its stands the vanilla skin is very plain. The other skins look good but seem incomplete (e.g. news/tooltip popups not working for Twitter). Hope the beta matures quickly!
August 18th, 2010 at 5:53 pm
Excellent application. I use it on my pc and blackberry.
August 18th, 2010 at 6:18 pm
I am having problems with going offline with FB. I click to change mode to offline, then it keeps FB online or with the different status I have for FB. To make sure this is understood, all my contacts are Invisible and FB is shown as away. I can manually click to have the status follow, but it doesn’t seem to stay across sessions. Anyone else see this?
August 18th, 2010 at 6:41 pm
You guys rock! Thank you for all the fixes with this update!
August 18th, 2010 at 7:16 pm
is anyone having the issue of when you get an e-mail notification, it opens up an empty tab in your current Firefox window and then opens up hotmail in an entirely new Window?
is this a settings thing I need to adjust myself?
August 18th, 2010 at 8:01 pm
Obrigado a equipe Trillian…
August 18th, 2010 at 8:28 pm
Thanks so much~
August 18th, 2010 at 8:46 pm
please update the Italian Language file,
i’ve completed the whole translation and still can’t see the update
August 18th, 2010 at 8:48 pm
É o maximo
August 18th, 2010 at 9:10 pm
What happened to the cool themes in 4.2? Why is 5.0 so “white”? Bring back all the good themes; please!! Or come out with some cool skins.
August 18th, 2010 at 9:30 pm
gracias gracias genial esta actulizacion
August 18th, 2010 at 10:19 pm
thank you so much trillian
August 19th, 2010 at 12:11 am
Another thing, which Christopher made me think about, how come, like with the Astra betas and alphas, if we have a current Pro account, we can’t access the Pro features? I understand there will need to be an upgrade fee paid (currently $10 for pre-orders), but this is not available, as of yet.
August 19th, 2010 at 12:43 am
Hey, keep putting out an awesome product and I’ll keep beta testing. This was such a sleeper release but extremely AWESOME!
August 19th, 2010 at 12:51 am
Thanks for the update! Now it joins the skype correctly!
August 19th, 2010 at 12:56 am
Too bad the problem with AIM profiles still hasn’t been fixed. :/
August 19th, 2010 at 1:10 am
Still no native Xfire support
August 19th, 2010 at 1:43 am
@Christopher Hall: The 4 series themes are still there, but Trillian’s unskinned by default.
August 19th, 2010 at 4:10 am
Nice one. Really liking 5 a lot. Impressive list of bugfixes here too!
August 19th, 2010 at 7:56 am
¿ Why don´t be use videoconference for windows live ?…¿ Por qué no usan videoconferencia para Windows Live Messenger, y solo lo es para Yahoo ?
August 19th, 2010 at 8:28 am
Excelente produto. Que bom que atualizaram. Muito coisa melhorou. Obrigado!
August 19th, 2010 at 8:31 am
Love version 5. Amongst (a lot of) other things, it finally has a Twitter interface I can use :3
August 19th, 2010 at 10:57 am
How can I post a bug report?
August 19th, 2010 at 11:04 am
Wow thanks, can’t wait for the next one
August 19th, 2010 at 11:25 am
Hey great, i really like the facebook feature. now waiting on a/v chat for google talk.
August 20th, 2010 at 2:06 am
Millions of bugs and not implemented features waiting for their solution on mac … instead of this, still bugfixing windows and now damn android step in – and already in beta – disappointing
how long will it take to bugfix and upgrade the macversion to beta
August 20th, 2010 at 2:54 am
i have problem after update that my avatar picture is lost. happened on both PCs i am using.
August 20th, 2010 at 10:18 am
muy bueno creo que le iría bien que se ponga ausente automáticamente cuando esta en segundo plano
great app, I think it needs auto idle when running in backgroud
August 21st, 2010 at 11:06 am
the update is great. still can’t wait to be able to hide chat windows.
August 23rd, 2010 at 9:28 am
The AIM component is still not working. AOL has updated the backend and you need to fix Trillian so it still works with AIM
August 23rd, 2010 at 10:13 am
Hmm, I can’t tweet anymore. And the My Mail bug is still there.
August 24th, 2010 at 1:49 am
If I had not already been a Trillian User and had seen the headline “Trillian for Windows: Over 100 bugfixes! (5.0 Build 23)” I’d be wondering WHY there were over 100 bugs to be fixed? Sounds like pretty poor software to me! Then when I’m told there is an update and I update, I’m updated to Build 22 and NOT the 23 as advertised. Sheesh!!
August 24th, 2010 at 7:52 am
The Best Trillian EVER!
August 24th, 2010 at 8:23 am
Thanks for making Trillian Astra awesome!
August 24th, 2010 at 11:08 am
this version crashes after sometime running in the background without me doing a chat on any plugin. happend on win xp and on win 7…
August 24th, 2010 at 5:25 pm
The hide window button does not show up when you’re using an aero theme on windows 7. It only shows up when using a basic theme. Is there an easy way to fix this by editing something in the skin or should I just wait for it to be fixed in an update?
August 25th, 2010 at 2:52 am
twitter not loading.. keeps on saying ” can’t update profile of me”… sheesh…
August 25th, 2010 at 8:01 am
Downloaded the new Trillian 5, now it crashes randomly multiple times a day, any ideas, been using for years
August 25th, 2010 at 8:08 am
Just tried this latest v5 Build 23, it will not stay running for more then 20 min. Keeps crashing. I had to uninstall and go back to the Non-Beta. The only plugins I have are: World Time, and GoodNews. Not sure why it’s crashing so much. Previous beta crashed sometimes, but that was maybe one time every couple weeks. I sure hope the next build can fix whatever is causing the major crashes.
August 25th, 2010 at 9:27 pm
This update crashes constantly. It crashes on startup, shutdown and randomly in between. The previous build did not do this. I only use it with Skype and Twitter enabled on Windows XP.
August 26th, 2010 at 4:06 am
suport for links – ymsgr:im?+&msg=
August 26th, 2010 at 1:00 pm
Wonderful! I just hope that fake idling is fixed soon (says a person is back from idle only to list them as idle again two seconds later despite showing no chance in how long they’ve been idle).
August 26th, 2010 at 1:43 pm
I’m a Digsby user, and a friend of mine recommended me to try Trillian. I got a very good first impression. One thing that I don’t like is that you can’t do much with the mails that arrive to your Hotmail inbox. With Gmail and Yahoo! I can delete them or mark as read. But with Hotmail the only option is to view them in the inbox. Is there any fix or enhacement for this particular issue.
Anyway, congratulations for that nice work guys!! Keep on!!
August 26th, 2010 at 11:21 pm
cool!!
thanks u so much
August 27th, 2010 at 3:21 am
are there themes available for the latest version? thanks
August 27th, 2010 at 10:31 am
thanks!
August 29th, 2010 at 9:47 am
what i would REALLY like to see guys is this. I use Facebook – so, i use facebook Chat. HOWEVER…i use the Jabber/XMPP protocol. So, when i go to add facebook for “Social” – it also adds the chat. And….it’s a pain in the ARSE to see both Facebook chat and the Jabber settings for facebook in the contact list.
The reason i use the Jabber settings for facebook is because, for me…it’s a lot more stable and reliable. I don’t “Pop offline” – and, it’s more accurate in telling me who’s on, and who’s not. Proof of that was shown when facebook chat was added to the contact list. it said 2 friends were on. The jabber protocol was showing 4. So, i went to the site for the tiebreaker….and, Jabber was right.
So…what you SHOULD be able to do is keep the Facebook chat protocol separate from the stream or newsfeed itself.
I would also LOVE to see a feed for MySpace added as well – because, i don’t see it anywhere….and, the chat is added to my list. oO
Other than that….i take back what i said earlier – cause, i installed before i bought astra…then, thought “What the heck, try it again with new settings!” – and, i’m in love with 5 now!
August 29th, 2010 at 4:22 pm
Can anyone tell me if the invisible on msn problem has been fixed yet? I keep updating then going back to an earlier version because it never seems to be working. I want to be invisible, and actually show as that. i.e. not show up online. I know invisble doesn’t work, cus i added myself to see when it got fixed.
It’s a pain in the backside having to keep updating just to try it out. It’s a main part of MSN, one of the user modes, yet it doesn’t seem to be getting fixed. Starting to not like Astra/trillian any more due to this thing alone.
August 29th, 2010 at 5:42 pm
Jessie is not a happy girl.
Maybe it was this last update or maybe it wasn’t, but Trillian 4 no longer lets ya log in to Astra. This wouldn’t be so bad if Trillian 5 were stable enough to FORCE this change. Lemme tell ya…it’s a freaking AWFUL sign when a SIMPLE CHAT CLIENT CRASHES when switching ANY kind of display settings in Windows XP 32-Bit with Service Pack 3 (such as cursors, screen savers, display resolution, or Visual Themes). >:|
August 29th, 2010 at 7:58 pm
thanks with this multi-messenger
September 1st, 2010 at 7:55 am
We urgently need another 100 bugfixes. Facebook support is not working well at all… Still all contacts twice, does not really respect groupings & metacontacts, posting Trillian status to FB does not work. I hope you’re done with smartphones for the moment and find some time for your core business again.
September 1st, 2010 at 9:15 am
Well… yeah it’s tome for a Beta refresh I think
September 1st, 2010 at 9:35 am
I meant time not “tome”
September 2nd, 2010 at 1:07 pm
When will the storage and synchronization of history?
September 10th, 2010 at 11:02 am
When I un-check the option have my email accounts logged in automatically, Trillian does it anyway. This is the only “bug” I’ve found so far. I love the new look.
