Trillian Beta Round-Up: Windows, Mac, Linux!

Lots of new betas have now been released to testers. Feel free to give any of these builds a spin, but remember that they are still beta and may still have some bugs. Please let us know what you find!

As an additional reminder, Skype support in Trillian is coming to a close with the deprecation of SkypeKit! More details along with our latest knowledge can be found here.

Note: If your company uses an in-house Trillian Server, these clients won’t work until you upgrade the server to version 1.1 (also currently in beta).

Trillian 5.5 for Windows.
Tweaks to make Trillian feel a bit nicer on Windows 8 (a larger UI refresh is forthcoming), a new sign in window, support for Trillian group chats (with @mentions, topics, ops/voice, display names, and flags), per-contact muting, do not disturb status, and many more fixes and improvements! Download and changelog.

Trillian 3.0 for Mac.
A shiny new Yosemite-inspired user interface brings our Mac product back into the modern era. Also with support for Trillian group chats (with @mentions, topics, ops/voice, display names, and flags), improved support for XMPP group chats, per-contact muting, full screen support, do not disturb status, improved Retina support, Notification Center improvements (avatars, in-line replies), and many more fixes and improvements! Download and changelog.

Trillian 1.2 for Linux.
Still only available for Pro customers. Also with support for Trillian group chats (with @mentions, topics, ops/voice, display names, and flags), per-contact muting, do not disturb status, and many more fixes and improvements! Download and changelog.

A refresh of our mobile clients is next on the horizon. Stay tuned, and thanks!

Trillian for Mac (1.6 Build 36)

We’re releasing a minor new Trillian for Mac update today for beta testers. Once everything looks good we’ll submit this to the App Store for everyone else, so please let us know if you find any glaring issues! The bulk of the work in 1.6 will be invisible to users, but we’ve now got a fair portion of the work required to support group chats done. Visible changes in 1.6 include better support for sending images, metacontact windows, the ability to tweak or disable auto away, and the utilization of your address book pictures in the chat window as well as the contact list. You can download the 1.6 beta here.

Trillian for Mac: Fixes and updates! (1.3 Build 37)

A new Mac build is going out today with more fixes and a few new features. This build took a little longer in the review queue than usual and we apologize for the delay. We probably have one more minor Mac build in us before the group chat stuff is ready, but we’ll keep everyone updated if the schedule changes. Everything is looking great so far, and we hope you enjoy the new build!

Trillian for Mac: Fixes and updates! (1.2 Build 40)

Today we’re releasing a new version of Trillian for Mac that boasts a large amount of optimizations and bugfixes. In addition to the fixes, the Twitter engine in Trillian for Mac has been upgraded to support native RTs by default, userstream, and a bunch of other cool enhancements. We are now continuing to finish up group chat integration – once it’s finished, we’ll be tackling Skype shortly after! We are still very much committed to our Mac version and plan on releasing updates more quickly this year to keep development flowing smoothly. Enjoy the new build and stay tuned for more new features coming soon!
