Trillian 2.0 for Android

We are pleased to introduce Trillian 2.0 for Android, featuring a more modern user interface that should blend beautifully with your ICS+ devices and a bunch of great new features and enhancements.

Trillian’s new launchpad UI lets you keep up with the people most important to you at a single glance. Paired with optional address book integration, Trillian can now automatically import names and photos for your contacts to make you feel right at home.

Trillian group chats.
You can now easily start group chats with your friends who also use Trillian, with server-backed chat history!

Improved security.
Although we’ve always transmitted passwords using TLS, Trillian 2.0 now uses TLS everywhere, meaning all of your chats are now encrypted over the wire and better protected from third-party eavesdropping.

In-house server compatibility.
If your company runs a Trillian Server you can now connect to it using this version of Trillian for Android!

Other goodies.
History has been cleanly integrated into message windows, sending photos has been refreshed, taking photos can now load the camera more easily, emoticons have been overhauled, and a bunch of bugs have been fixed! If you’ve had trouble connecting to MSN or Yahoo! in the past, see if 2.0 helps!

Next steps.
We’re excited to be working with a clean slate for our Android app – let us know what features you’d like to see come to Trillian for Android next!

Trillian for Android: Updates! (1.2 Build 3)

A new update is being sent out for Trillian for Android today. Our original method of sending photos relied on the gallery app, and we now open the camera directly when available. We’ve fixed the scrolling bug specific to ICS installations, removed our copy/paste method in favor of a simpler per-bubble selection method, and added a multi-line edit box for those times when you have deep thoughts to share with your friends! A few other minor bugfixes in this version as well, including one to hopefully fix an infinite loop that occurred when using a hotspot. Enjoy the new release!

A handful of bugs have been fixed in the latest Android release. We’re also beginning to integrate with the Android Intent system as of this build, with much more to come in the future. As with the Mac update, this version also supports the latest and greatest Facebook authentication stuff. Have a great weekend!

Trillian for Android: Bugfixes! (1.1 Build 215)

Another quick update today, this time to Trillian for Android. A few bugs with the recently unveiled in-app purchasing routines have been fixed, the notification icons were updated to look a bit nicer, and we’ve added a feature to start Trillian when your device boots up. On the server side, a small bug preventing certain Jabber accounts from connecting has been resolved, and you should now be able to sign into your Android tablets and Android phones simultaneously. Enjoy the new build!
